Weilheim central bus station
Solid surface cladding for the roof structure of the ZOB Weilheim central bus station
What were the challenges, and how did we come up with a solution?
The new central bus station in Weilheim forms an important public transport hub for the local community. The bus platform canopy, which is approximately 120 metres long, defines the look of this complex but also called for high-quality materials and robust structural design.
The use of solid surface material made it possible to create durable and precision-crafted cladding that resembles a continuous white band running around the edge of the roof. The translucent surface also reflects light, so the structure stands out clearly in the dark.

What steps had to be taken to achieve this?
Rosskopf + Partner manufactured a total of 390 solid surface panels for cladding the edge of the roof. Two of these elements also had the words ‘ZOB WEILHEIM’ milled into them with absolute precision.
