Elegant Canopy at the Weilheim Central Bus Station

With the new central bus station (ZOB), the city of Weilheim in Upper Bavaria displays a striking new appearance directly next to the train station. The new bus station provides the city with one of the most important transfer points for short-distance public transportation in the region.

The 120-metre long canopy above the bus platform, where five of seven bus stops are located, is exceptionally distinctive. For the cladding on the outside edge of the roof, we produced 390 solid surface material panels that, joined together, look like a wide white band. "ZOB WEILHEIM" was milled into the edge in two places, which gives the lettering an elegant appearance. Because of the white, translucent material, the sheathing brightly illuminates the structure in the dark.
