Development of Rosskopf & Partner

The Rosskopf & Partner group started out small – but that is, in fact, one of its greatest strengths. For although it is counted among the leading manufacturers in the branch, it has never forgotten its roots.

From the very beginning, it was important for the Rosskopf & Partner group to grow into a healthy company, but especially to develop what its profile stands for – the potential and the motivation of its employees. That is the reason it can continually adhere to the creative thinking and spirit of innovation that is the foundation of its success.

1984 – Founding

In a village called Gnadenthal near Limburg in Germany, Helmut Roßkopf begins to work independently in a small carpentry workshop. The small business is successful.

1988 – Partnership

Helmut Roßkopf meets Martin Funck. With his participation, Roßkopf & Partner GmbH (Ltd.) is born.

The company begins successfully by processing CORIAN® (product and brand of DuPont) and grows into an appreciated partner in the kitchen and bathroom furniture industry.

1991 – Eastward Expansion

In the course of further growth, in May 1991, a subsidiary is created in Hennersdorf near Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany, which from September 1992 onward has operated as Roßkopf & Partner GmbH & Co. KG. During the next very successful years, Hennersdorf becomes the strategic company headquarters for marketing and processing of solid surface materials.

1997 – Further Expansion

In summer 1997, a third site in Thuringia is added to the existing company. In July 2000, a new building in the Obermehler airport industrial area is completed. From then on, Obermehler is systematically developed into one of the most modern quartz processing businesses in Europe.

2002 – Fusion

In May 2002, the three independent companies are merged into Rosskopf & Partner AG with its headquarters in Obermehler, Thuringia. As a result of this fusion, the company becomes modern corporation and continues to be growth-orientated enterprise.

2002 – New Partner

To become more flexible in the market, negotiations with additional vendors take place in summer 2002. Beginning In autumn 2002, Rosskopf & Partner AG becomes a strategic partner for the Solid Surface Material HI-MACS® (product and brand of LG Hausys) for LG Hausys, South Korea.

2005 – New Dimensions

Rosskopf & Partner AG concentrates on the transformation of the world-renowned, unique hotel project “Puerta América“ in Madrid. The work on this project, for which entirely new dimensions in the processing of solid surface materials are implemented, brings international attention and recognition.

2005 – New Material

To increase their range of innovative surface materials, Rosskopf & Partner adds a completely new type of material: porcelain ceramics of the brand LAMINAM® (product and registered trademark of Laminam).

2006 – Investments

For the processing of the entire sheet business for solid surface materials, a new machining facility is prepared in Hennersdorf. An important foundation for continued growth is laid.

2007 – Cooperation with Dekker

After an increase in capital stock, the Dekker Zevenhuizen B.V. acquires a minority holding of Rosskopf & Partner AG. With this acquisition, the course was set to secure mutual growth as a leading European supplier group over the next several years.

2007 – New Partner

In 2007, R+P initiates a successful partnership with the brand Silestone® by Cosentino - the leader in product, brand and service for quartz materials.

2008 – New Disposition of Market Segments

Rosskopf & Partner categorises its sales into new market segments. From then on, the architecture and handcrafts segments as well as the area of kitchen products are allocated to the German market. In the segment of the kitchen and bath studios, products of their own brand xsyro®surfaces are distributed.

2008 – Expansion

Rosskopf & Partner Ltd. and Rosskopf & Partner Austria GmbH are founded in order to conduct business more effectively in the UK and Austria and to support customers directly on site. Rosskopf & Partner grows into a group of companies.

2011 – New Partner

In January 2011, a partnership begins with a new supplier for a novel porcelain ceramic material. Rosskopf & Partner distributes and processes it under their own brand name selatec®ceramic.

2011 – Production Expansion

To expand the area for sheet storage and processing of the entire quartz material business, a new Hall in the Technology and Innovation Centre in Schlotheim is acquired. Also, projects related to solid surface material fabrication are taken over at this site. With this acquisition, the way is paved for continuous growth.
