Rosskopf & Partner is skilled with particularly comprehensive engineering expertise and is therefore an ideal partner for demanding projects. Their participation in constructing the interior of the Porsche Museum led to first-rate results as a consummation of their many years of experience with the solid surface material HI-MACS® by LG Hausys. Since HI-MACS® was introduced, LG Hausys and Rosskopf & Partner have been allied in a successful partnership. Therefore, when large orders are required, momentous performance is attainable.
Over many years of research, Rosskopf & Partner developed the innovative glass-ceramic material carsitec®ceramic, which offers an appealing aesthetic appearance, especially in combination with other materials. A total of nine pedestal surfaces were created as finished bonded elements with substructures and now function as stable platforms for vehicle exhibits. Rosskopf & Partner was able to manufacture the platforms with an almost invisible bond: the edges were completely glued to mitre and polished, which leaves the impression that they were made from a single block. Even mitre cuts at well below 45 degrees were so precisely machined that perfect visual impression could be achieved.
Considering the exceptional quality and its proven fire-resistant properties, the solid surface material HI-MACS® by LG Hausys became the choice of architects and planners. The excellent references from other projects in which Rosskopf & Partner was involved were crucial in this decision. Within a few months, the companies involved in constructing the building’s interior were supplied with the required semi-finished products. Specifically, these included: prefabricated panelling for the balustrades, skirting and walls with integrated handrails, air vents, double frames for fire doors, pedestals, exhibit showcases and columns. Additionally, they manufactured benches, wall showcases, a library and a pantry counter.
Rosskopf & Partner was able to provide absolute consistency in the colour of the components; they manufactured and smoothed very large contiguous areas and provided detailed solutions for overhanging wall frames. For this, Rosskopf & Partner developed new adhesive techniques and mounting methods.
Thanks to their excellent engineering skills, Rosskopf & Partner supported the companies working on the project by proving them with competent advice on technical decisions and training prior to the installation.
